Your Tomorrow
04:32
|
|||
The ribbon flew
The phone rings
The engine hums
And the neighbour sings
Can milk taste like honey
When it never goes bad?
I’m living out of boxes
I see your books all tower round
Numbers fill in spaces
When you know just where they land
Me, I’m entirely absolute
Completely holding both hands out for the rain
In the hope that my tomorrow
Might just cross your yesterday
I see you standing in the kitchen
All summer’s day long
Singing it will happen if it’s supposed to
But chances are it won’t go wrong
For you, everything you touch seems to shimmer
Before it turns to gold
While I’m standing in the dark
Blind folded in the middle of the road
I guess we make our own choices
We try to live them by the book
We become the pages
Some rip, some others simply took
In a mindless wild expression
They’ll put to a tune one day
In the hope that their tomorrow
Might just cross my yesterday

Offida
03:23
|
|||
Offida..
Je vous laisse une note
Vous m’avez donné des ailes
Je vous relaisse dans votre art inperpétuel
Continuez, accrochez, du haut du ciel
Les maisons vos broches
Vos fils tendus le long des ruelles
Offida, Offida, Vous offrez..
Offida..
Offida..
Offida…

Faces
04:28
|
|||
Step, feel begun
Push push, run run
I went forward in a side-glance
Wherever It would take me
In the hope that someday
Someone might meet me
I had time to watch and time to play
Strangers were guidance
They were on their way
And I blushed and I melted
My way through love
Like an apple in the sun
And a volcano’s flood

Bottletop Blues
05:00
|
|||
I went away, I told my mother
That sometime today, I’ll be a runner
I’ll ride horses and I’ll play the main
I wanted to beat each and every boundary
And dig the surface of eternity,
But when I returned, I felt the cold
Quelque chose a changé
Je n’arrive pas a le cerner
J’ai la bouteille mais
Je n’ai pas le bouchon
Je joue le jeu
Je cherche la chose
Ça ressemble un peu à ce que j’ai déjà
I can’t wait til september
Put this behind me, years of colours
That I can’t see anymore
But I can’t push away
This summer I left behind me
A former self
Someone that won’t remind me
A lost language will be sitting on a cloud
Something’s changed and I
Can’t put a finger on it
I got the jar but I can’t find a lid that fits and I’m
Running around searching for something
That looks a little like what I’ve got
Quelque chose a changé
Je n’arrive pas a le cerner
J’ai la bouteille mais
Je n’ai pas le bouchon
Je joue le jeu
Je cherche la chose
Ça ressemble un peu à ce que j’ai déjà
...à ce que j’ai déjà
...à ce que j’ai déjà
...à ce que j’ai déjà

White Chalk
05:39
|
|||
I threw chalk into the air
From its dust, words tumbled down
Pouring down the morning sun
Some landed in your hair
I spelt out a song I wrote
With a voice both young and high
High on booze I saw a ring
Over this early morning tide
In first gear the ride is long
Windows down far as the sea
Blue light through the car door
There you teased so timelessly
I will kiss you for a song
And from that song I’ll want to kiss
Your peach lower lip
In the morning you were gone
Unbuttoned pride he turned away
I was searching for the board
White chalk across my face
Searching for the place he’s sworn
But silence leans across our hearts
A gull is staring at the red
Sky holding up the day
This is the very day you fled
Now I cannot seek you out
Cos you still owe me that kiss
On my peach lower lip
In the morning you were gone
In the morning you were
The morning you were gone

Come Be Me
04:39
|
|||
Suis mon chemin
Ma liste, mon bagage
Mes désirs t’appartiennent
Et quand tu sors de chez moi
Tu feras bien attention
Il pleut souvent
Come, be me.
Come, be me
Come, be me.

Where To Go
04:22
|
|||
I’ve got the best story
You’ll ever hear
I didn’t come from this earth
Never caressed it with my feet
I just fell from the sky near you
I tried to hold onto a cloud
Like they told me to
Y’a des hommes au piquet
Et l’honneur est à la gouge
Cette piece est faite d’ivresse
Et de couleur rouge
Et moi j’suis tombée du ciel
À leurs côtés
Je n’ai plus aucun recul
Je suis enlacée
I know, just where to go
And I wouldn’t want it any other way
This machine eats smoke
And runs on wine
To step behind its curtain
Is to use one’s spine
And it just falls from the sky
Right through
It just takes what it wants
And does what it needs to do
And they know just where to go
And they wouldn’t want it any other way

Wandering Heart
06:16
|
|||
I come and I sit next to you
There are things that I would like
To say to you
I’ve been thinking for a while
I’ve been feeling for some time
You know how we get along pretty well
When we open the curtain
La scène est si belle
And I don’t see it changing soon
When I’m away I’m dancing under the moon
You know this heart that is wandering is mine
And you say not to worry
But I’m too deep in my crime
And I don’t see it changing soon
When I’m away I’m dancing under the moon
You come and you sit by me
Like a leaf would fall at the foot of a tree
You say something is bound to change soon
We could laugh our way to wisdom
Or keep fighting under the moon
You know this heart that is wandering is yours
And if we don’t say a word outside of these doors
Then something is bound to change soon
We can laugh our way to wisdom
Naked and honest
We knew

Sailor's Wife
04:23
|
|||
She set out building her rail
Number to number, nail to nail
No doubt in the cause, she took it slow
One by one straight like an arrow
Temple her school and she left at good time
Exiting the door at the scream of the chime
No wild in her eyes, it was rooted low
Sometimes it would appear in the hands of her shadow
She had plenty a sibling to bounce off and hide from
Some would stay on their knees, others long gone
And occasionally you’d see the cross hanging high
Fed their truth, their only lie
Da da da
She fell in love with a man on a boat
His sales were high, he could keep them afloat
But her bones ached and he would grind
His ivory body on their love left behind
She was the type to keep her end of the bet
But with nothing to feed of, half way she met
A married man, soft and strong
His heart of silk had been
Stamped upon
Da da da da...
Years went by in a cushioned cage
His children had jumped the stream and aged
With stale humour and cheeks wet
She’s in denial of an emotional dept
This dept, whatever side it may lay
Needs a fountain pen and a ruler I say
Cos she returned young and bright eyed
To a sailor’s wife who couldn't hear her cry

Coastline
05:58
|
|||
I walk along the coastline
I see all there is to see
It’s where I first breathed
So I called you up
And froze dead at the words that you said
But they still went on
Into the air I was born into
Here it is
Here it is
I fold under blankets
Stolen from the sprays of a tide
And they will roll on
I’m tracing the margin
I’m straining the tight rope until
Until I find a clue
Into the air I was born into
Here it is
Here it is
